Arboviral Diseases

  • Dengue: 2 imported cases identified since the start of the season in Corsica. For information, several episodes of local transmission have been identified in Occitanie, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.

  • West Nile: 1 case imported from Italy confirmed in Corsica in August and 1 equine case identified in S36 in Haute-Corse. For your information, active viral circulation in the Var.

Extreme heat, heat wave

  • No heatwave episodes are expected in the coming days.

Whooping cough

  • Indicators in the community and in hospitals have been rising in 2024, particularly since June. In August, activity in the community stabilized, and the increase in hospitals slowed.

Pollen

  • The allergy risk across the region is moderate, due to a low risk associated with four different types of pollen: ragweed, grasses, plantain, and nettles (source: RNSA).
