Health Monitoring in Corsica. Bulletin of June 25, 2025.
Key points
Dengue, Chikungunya, Zika
The first locally transmitted outbreak of chikungunya has been identified in Corsica, in the municipality of Grosseto-Prugna (Southern Corsica).
At the same time, several outbreaks of locally transmitted chikungunya cases have been identified on the mainland. The number and early onset of these outbreaks in mainland France confirm the very high risk of numerous areas with local transmission of chikungunya by 2025.
Since the start of enhanced surveillance (May 1), 3 imported cases of dengue (+1) and 3 imported cases of chikungunya have been confirmed (no new cases compared to last week).
Heatwave
No heat wave is currently underway or forecast in Corsica in the coming days, despite rising temperatures.
Emergency service activity remains stable and is close to seasonal expectations.
Pollen exposure, which may pose an allergy risk
In Corsica, the pollen index, established by Atmo France and accredited air quality monitoring associations, remains at a high level, primarily due to grass pollen.
Allergy-related activity at the SOS Médecins association continues to decline and is now lower than that observed in previous years during the same period.
