Key Points
Dengue, Chikungunya, and Zika
As of July 22, six locally transmitted cases of chikungunya (one new case compared to last week) have been detected in the municipality of Grosseto-Prugna (Southern Corsica). Additionally, another case is currently under investigation (a suspected case already mentioned last week).
At the same time, twelve additional clusters of locally transmitted chikungunya cases (+1 since the last update) and three clusters of locally transmitted dengue cases (+2 since the last update) have been identified on the mainland.
Since the start of enhanced surveillance (May 1), 3 imported cases of dengue and 3 imported cases of chikungunya have been confirmed in Corsica (no new cases compared to last week).
Heatwave
No heat wave is currently underway or expected in Corsica in the coming days.
Emergency service activity related to the heat is stable and in line with expected seasonal levels. No consultations for heat-related conditions have taken place at SOS Médecins.
