Heatwave
The heat wave observed in Corsica last week has now ended. Both Corsican departments were placed on yellow alert on Sunday, August 10. Haute-Corse was then placed on orange alert on August 11, followed by Corse-du-Sud the next day. On August 18, Southern Corsica returned to the green alert level, followed by Upper Corsica on August 19.
Regional activity for the iCanicule health indicator (including medical diagnoses of hyperthermia/heatstroke, dehydration, and hyponatremia) in emergency departments since the start of the heatwave was stable and low. SOS Médecins call volumes were very low. Nevertheless, heat-related activity had begun to increase as early as the beginning of June.
