Chikungunya, Dengue, Zika
Since May 1, surveillance of chikungunya, dengue, and Zika cases has identified 20 imported cases of dengue and one imported case of chikungunya in the region.
Two episodes of local dengue transmission have been identified in the region. Six cases were identified during the first episode in the town of Fayence in the Var department (serotype 1 dengue).
The second outbreak of local dengue transmission (serotype 3), which is still active, is located in the Alpes-Maritimes department. Two areas where the virus is circulating have been identified in the municipalities of Saint-Jeannet and Gattières. As of September 14, 26 cases had been reported. The largest cluster is in Saint-Jeannet (17 cases). Symptoms began between August 1 and September 6.
These two outbreaks are not linked (the circulating dengue serotypes are different).
Monkeypox
As of September 12, 264 confirmed cases among residents of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region have been reported.
