Epidemiological surveillance in Corsica. Update as of January 20, 2021.

COVID-19

Regional epidemic monitoring indicators have stabilized:

  • Regional incidence rate stable;

  • regional testing rate on the rise;

  • Regional positivity rate stable;

  • Low COVID-19-related activity at the SOS Médecins association;

  • Low COVID-19-related activity in emergency departments;

  • Hospitalizations across all departments and hospitalizations in intensive care or critical care are increasing;

  • 5 new clusters in S02.

The regional incidence rate, at 85 per 100,000 inhabitants, is stable, but masks an increase in Haute-Corse and a decrease in Corse-du-Sud. This rate remains above the alert threshold of 50 per 100,000 inhabitants in both departments of the island. The testing rate is rising slightly (4,242 per 100,000 inhabitants). The positivity rate remains stable at 2.1%.

At the same time, the number of people hospitalized across all departments, as well as in intensive care or continuous care units, is increasing.

  • Flu: stable trend.

  • Bronchiolitis: stable trend.

  • Gastroenteritis: low activity.
