Experimental Network for the Epidemiological Surveillance of Musculoskeletal Disorders in the Pays de la Loire Region. Protocol for Workplace Surveillance (2002–2004)
When it comes to the epidemiological surveillance of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), the variety of definitions and methods used to track them makes it difficult to compare the prevalence and incidence of MSDs across companies, industries, occupations, studies, and so on. The objective of this document is to present to prevention stakeholders the tool developed for epidemiological surveillance in the workplace, implemented on a pilot basis between 2002 and 2004 by the French Institute for Public Health Surveillance (InVS), the University of Angers, and the Regional Labor Directorate in the Pays de la Loire region. The results from this pilot surveillance, available upon publication on the InVS website in a thematic dossier titled "Musculoskeletal Disorders," may serve as a basis for comparison for studies using the same protocol.
