  • In 2021, in the Pays de la Loire region:

  • 7 cases of dengue were reported during the enhanced surveillance period, from May 1, 2021, to November 30, 2021 (compared to 71 cases of dengue during the same period in 2020).

  • All identified cases were imported, mainly from Réunion.

  • No cases of chikungunya or Zika virus infection were reported in the region.

  • None of the 7 cases in 2021 were subject to mandatory reporting. Awareness-raising efforts by the partners involved in this surveillance must continue and be strengthened ahead of the 2023 season.
