HIV/AIDS
The completeness of the DO and participation in LaboVIH were satisfactory in the Pays de la Loire region, at >80% and 89%, respectively.
HIV Testing:
HIV testing is increasing while the positivity rate is decreasing.
The screening rate in the region remains, however, below the national rate.
HIV diagnosis:
Although the positivity rate in screening is decreasing, the number of HIV diagnoses increased in 2022
58% of patients were born abroad.
Bacterial STIs: Chlamydia trachomatis, gonorrhea, and syphilis
CEGIDD participation in STI surveillance is low in the Pays de la Loire region compared to France in 2022 (36% vs. 76%) but has increased compared to 2021 (21%).
Screening: SNDS data show an increase in screening tests for all three diseases in the region.
Diagnosis (excluding gonorrhea):
There has been a marked increase in syphilis diagnoses among men aged 26 to 49.
Young women aged 15 to 25 have the highest rate of chlamydia diagnosis (300 per 100,000 inhabitants in 2022), but this rate has remained stable since 2019.
