Epidemiological Surveillance in the Pays de la Loire Region. Update as of October 25, 2016.

Over the past week in the region:

The number of SOS Médecins consultations for gastroenteritis remained high last week, most likely due to the circulation of norovirus (affecting children and young adults, with vomiting being the predominant symptom). This increase has been observed for over a month in the region, with numbers exceeding those seen in previous years for this time of year. An initial increase has also been observed since last week in the pediatric emergency department at Nantes University Hospital among children under 5 years of age. Persistent cases of nasopharyngitis and asthma attacks among children since the start of the school year, linked to the circulation of the rhinovirus.
