Epidemiological Surveillance in the Pays de la Loire Region. Update as of October 21, 2014.

Over the past week in the region:

  • SOS Médecins reported a slight decrease in gastroenteritis diagnoses across all age groups compared to the previous week, but numbers remain high for this time of year. However, there has been a marked increase in these diagnoses among children under 5 years of age. This increase is not reflected in data on pediatric emergency room visits for gastroenteritis;

  • There continue to be consultations for nasopharyngitis and asthma attacks among children aged 2 to 14, which is typical for this time of year;

  • A high number of emergency room visits for all causes among people aged 75 and older.
