Epidemiological Surveillance in the Pays de la Loire Region. Update as of November 24, 2015.
Over the past week in the region:
A seasonal bronchiolitis outbreak began two weeks ago, with an increase in calls to SOS Médecins and visits to the emergency department at Nantes University Hospital for bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age. The virology laboratories at the Nantes and Angers University Hospitals have also confirmed the start of RSV circulation. This early stage of the outbreak is impacting the number of emergency room visits by infants under one year of age at the Nantes University Hospital. The Angers University Hospital has not observed this increase.
There have been several clusters of acute respiratory infections (ARI) in nursing homes, with 19 new outbreaks since the beginning of September.
105 cases of mushroom poisoning have been reported in the region by the CAPTV since July, with none in the past week.
