Between 2021 and 2023, the standardized incidence rate of patients hospitalized for ischemic heart disease in the Pays-de-la-Loire region (389 vs. 459 per 100,000 inhabitants in France) was lower than that of France, with an average of 12,041 patients hospitalized per year in the region. The standardized prevalence in 2022 was 5.0% in the region, slightly lower than that of France (5.5%). The standardized mortality rate (2020–2022) in the region (59 per 100,000 inhabitants) was equivalent to the national level.
Between 2021 and 2023, the standardized incidence rate of patients hospitalized for heart failure in the Pays-de-la-Loire region was slightly lower than that of France (337 vs. 344 per 100,000 inhabitants), with an average of 10,655 patients hospitalized per year in the region. The standardized prevalence was 2.3% in 2022 in the region, comparable to that of France (2.5%). The standardized mortality rate (2020–2022) in the region was higher than that found in France (50 vs. 46 per 100,000 inhabitants, respectively).
Between 2021 and 2023, the standardized incidence rate of patients hospitalized for stroke in the Pays-de-la-Loire region was slightly lower than that of France (222 vs. 231 per 100,000 inhabitants, respectively), with an average of 6,917 patients hospitalized per year in the region. The standardized prevalence in 2022 was 1.9% in the region, comparable to the national prevalence (2.0%). The standardized mortality rate in the region (61 per 100,000 inhabitants) was higher than that of France.
