Epidemiological Situation

No local transmission of the dengue or chikungunya virus is currently observed in Réunion. Furthermore, no epidemic is currently underway in the regional exchange zone. The epidemiological situation therefore corresponds to alert level 1A (“Absence of cases or occurrence of isolated cases of dengue or chikungunya not linked to an outbreak in the regional exchange zone”). Nevertheless, vigilance must be maintained, as the arrival of the southern summer will create conditions particularly conducive to the vector and viral transmission.
