Key Points

Epidemiological situation: new outbreak in the northern part of the island, likely linked to nosocomial transmission.
After more than two weeks without any new cases identified, three confirmed cases were reported during the month of April (onset of rash between April 10 and April 28) and are likely linked (nosocomial transmission). Three additional cases, including two confirmed cases, are currently under investigation and are likely linked to this nosocomial outbreak.

New cases are expected in Réunion.

Importance of verifying vaccination status and administering a two-dose catch-up series for eligible individuals who are unvaccinated or incompletely vaccinated (general population and healthcare workers). Vaccination plays a role in both individual and collective protection (protection of people who cannot be vaccinated).
