Epidemiological Situation

The seasonal flu epidemic, primarily caused by the B virus, continues to spread in Réunion. Monitored indicators suggest an epidemic of greater magnitude than in the past four years. Furthermore, 24 patients have been hospitalized in intensive care for the flu since the beginning of the year, six of whom have died.During this seasonal flu outbreak and given the increase in patients admitted to intensive care, it is important to remember that flu vaccination is the only way for vulnerable individuals to protect themselves against complications and severe forms of the disease, and that hygiene measures must be followed to limit the spread of the virus.
