Health Monitoring in Réunion. Update as of July 4, 2024.
Key Points
Leptospirosis
With the seasonal surge now over, leptospirosis data will no longer be published weekly. Nevertheless, it is important to remain vigilant. There is always a risk of infection during high-risk activities, regardless of the season. In fact, cases of leptospirosis are identified year-round, even though 87% of cases in 2022 and 71% of cases in 2023 occurred between January and June.
Dengue
The winter decline continues, with 9 cases reported in Week 25. Starting next week, dengue data will no longer be reported weekly. A summary of the season will be published in early September.
Acute respiratory infection (bronchiolitis, COVID-19, and influenza)
Increase in ARI surveillance indicators in emergency departments and in primary care.
Acute gastroenteritis
Increase in emergency department visits for acute gastroenteritis among children under 5 years of age.
