Health Monitoring in Réunion. Bulletin of October 3, 2025.

Key points

Measles

  • A fourth locally acquired case identified in S40, in a context of insufficient vaccination coverage that makes it possible for new cases to emerge, for clusters to occur, for transmission chains to establish themselves, and even for an epidemic resurgence.

Arboviruses

  • Chikungunya is circulating on a very limited scale (a single case in week 38) and has no impact on the healthcare system. The last reported case of locally acquired dengue was confirmed in week 17, and the last imported case was in week 37.

Acute respiratory infections

  • Emergency room visits and hospitalizations are declining. The epidemic is still ongoing.

Bronchiolitis

  • Increase in health and virological indicators.

Gastroenteritis

  • Trend is rising, with norovirus and rotavirus being the most prevalent.
