Key Points

  • The number of clinically suggestive cases has remained around 3,000 per week for the past four weeks, while the number of confirmed cases has stabilized at around 1,000 per week.

  • The proportion of hospitalized cases remains higher in 2020 than in 2019.

  • Numerous cases of secondary dengue are being detected, with a growing proportion in the west

  • Although the majority of cases remain concentrated in the south, particularly in St. Pierre, the epidemic continues to spread westward (St. Paul, Le Port), which now accounts for nearly 40% of cases.

  • All municipalities on the island remain affected by viral circulation

  • The DENV1 serotype remains by far the most prevalent. DENV2 is now detected sporadically, while DENV-3 is still detected in the east as well as in the north and, for the first time, in the west.
