Dengue Situation in Mayotte. Epidemiological Update as of June 12, 2014.

Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

The monitored indicators (weekly number of biologically confirmed dengue cases and general practitioners’ activity related to visits for dengue-like syndrome) show that the circulation of the dengue virus in Mayotte remains very active. The outbreaks in Mamoudzou, Dzaoudzi, and Pamandzi are still active, and local transmission of the virus is occurring in other parts of the island. The highest level of vigilance must be maintained to limit the risk of the situation escalating into a widespread epidemic across the entire territory.
