COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Mayotte as of October 27, 2021

The resurgence of viral circulation, linked to the presence of the Delta variant in Mayotte, was marked by an increase in the incidence rate above the vigilance threshold (10 cases per 100,000 inhabitants) since Week 30 of 2021 and the alert threshold (50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants) in Week 35 of 2021 after several weeks of a lull.
Since Week 35, virological indicators have been declining: in Week 42 of 2021, the incidence rate was 17.2 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (vs. 55 per 100,000 inhabitants in mainland France) and the positivity rate was 1.6%. This decline is observed across all age groups with the exception of people aged 65 and older, among whom the incidence rate remains above the alert threshold in week 42 of 2021.
