Key Points

In the eighth week of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in Mayotte, a clear decline in the incidence and positivity rates has been observed. The situation remains concerning, however, with high indicators well above alert thresholds and significant strain on hospitals, amid the spread of more transmissible variants.

  • Decline in indicators but incidence and positivity rates remain very high

  • Variants: results of the flash survey conducted on February 1 and 15. Among the samples analyzed, more than 80% of suspected SARS-CoV-2 variants were detected.
