COVID-19: Epidemiological Update from the July 9, 2020 Meeting
Key Points
While the number of imported cases is rising, other surveillance indicators remain stable and at a low level.
It remains important to follow protective measures, keeping in mind that the virus can be transmitted by people who do not have symptoms. Wearing a mask remains crucial to prevent transmission of the virus through droplets and airborne transmission, a route of transmission that cannot be ruled out based on current knowledge.
Heightened vigilance must be maintained to quickly identify any local transmission, which can occur all the more easily as the number of travelers arriving in Réunion has increased since the resumption of air traffic.
Any healthcare professional can report chains of transmission or suspected clusters to the ARS: ars-reunion-signal@ars.sante.fr
