COVID-19 and Other Respiratory Viruses in Réunion. Update as of November 3, 2022.

COVID-19
In Week 43, viral circulation remained stable at a level with an incidence rate below 50* cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The testing rate was declining. In contrast, the positivity rate rose slightly to 10% after remaining stable at 7% over the past two weeks. The effective R remained stable at 0.98.
Regarding hospital indicators, new hospitalizations continued to decline. Admissions to critical care were stable, and the number of deaths was zero in Week 43. All hospital indicators were at low levels.
Bronchiolitis
There was a decrease in emergency department visits due to bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age in Week 43 (n=46 vs. 52 in Week 42).
The number of new hospitalizations also decreased in Week 43 (n=18 vs. 28 in Week 42).
Influenza
Virological surveillance of influenza in hospitals showed a decrease in the circulation of influenza viruses, which were predominantly type A(H1N1) since S36, with continued limited co-circulation of type B virus. The positivity rate was 14% in S43.
