Surveillance of Chikungunya, Dengue, and Zika in Occitanie. Update as of June 16, 2023.

Key Points

  • In Occitanie, since May 1, 2023, eight imported cases of dengue fever have been identified: the individuals concerned had returned from Martinique (2), Malaysia (2), Brazil (1), Mexico (1), Thailand (1), and the Seychelles (1). No cases of chikungunya or Zika have been identified.

  • To limit the risk of local transmission, 15 entomological surveys and 13 vector control treatments were carried out in the vicinity of these cases.

  • Nationwide, from May 1 to June 16, 2023, the following were confirmed:

    • 100 imported cases of dengue,

    • 2 imported cases of chikungunya,

    • 0 imported cases of Zika.
