Surveillance of Chikungunya, Dengue, and Zika in Occitanie. Update as of June 13, 2022.

Key Points

In Occitanie, since May 1, 2022, eight imported cases of dengue fever have been confirmed: the individuals involved had returned from Cuba (3), Brazil (2), Mexico (2), and Réunion (1).

No cases of chikungunya or Zika have been identified.

To limit the risk of local transmission, 13 entomological surveys and 5 vector control treatments were carried out in the vicinity of these cases.

Nationwide, from May 1 to June 10, 2022, the following were confirmed:

  • 33 imported cases of dengue,

  • 1 imported case of chikungunya,

  • 0 imported cases of Zika.
