Highlights from the Midi-Pyrénées Regional Council

Heatwave in Metropolitan France and Midi-PyrénéesBetween August 16 and 22, Metropolitan France experienced a heatwave that affected 33 departments, which were placed at the Miga level (“Warning and Action”) under the national heatwave plan.In Midi-Pyrénées, five departments were affected: Lot, Gers, Haute-Garonne, Tarn, and Tarn-et-Garonne. These five departments have now returned to the seasonal watch level.A preliminary assessment of the health impact of this heat wave is presented on pages 9 through 13 of this bulletin. It will be supplemented in the coming weeks by an analysis of consolidated data, particularly mortality data, which typically show a moderate increase during such episodes.
