Hospital Activity Monitoring:

Aggregate indicators by department have remained relatively stable. However, in Hérault, there was an increase in the total number of emergency room visits last weekend, along with the statistical threshold being exceeded for children under 1 year of age; these increases had no particular impact on the number of hospitalizations. A temporary increase in the total number of emergency room visits was observed in Lozère over the weekend.

Monitoring of seasonal illnesses:

  • Influenza: The Unified Network of Grog and Sentinelles reports, for the Languedoc-Roussillon region, a stabilization in the incidence rate of outpatient visits for influenza-like illness. Visits to emergency departments and requests to SOS Médecins for this reason continue to decline. At the same time, the number of acute respiratory infections (ARI) in elderly care facilities is decreasing.

  • Gastroenteritis: The incidence rate estimated by the Sentinelles network is below the epidemic threshold for the second consecutive week. Despite this, visits to emergency departments and calls to SOS Médecins remain frequent.

  • Bronchiolitis: slight increase in the number of cases diagnosed in emergency departments.

Measles monitoring:

From weeks 2012-06 to 2012-09, there has been an increase in the number of reported cases, two-thirds of which are located in the Pyrénées-Orientales.
