Public Health Surveillance in Languedoc-Roussillon. Epidemiological Update as of July 26, 2012

Key Points:

  • Hospital ActivityOverall activity indicators remained relatively stable. There were some isolated fluctuations in the number of hospitalizations in the Aude and Hérault departments on Monday, July 23. The indicator returned to normal levels the following day.

  • Summer SurveillanceThe indicators tracked as part of summer surveillance show fairly low numbers.

  • Vector-borne disease surveillanceSince last week, only two new reports of suspected chikungunya/dengue cases have been received. Since the start of surveillance, four cases of dengue and one case of chikungunya have been confirmed, all of which were acquired during travel to endemic areas. No locally acquired cases have been reported to date.
