Heat Wave Monitoring in the Midi-Pyrénées Region. Epidemiological Update as of August 21, 2012
Yesterday at 3:00 p.m., Météo France recorded: 31.8°C in Auch (Gers), 33.9°C in Montauban (Tarn-et-Garonne), 36.1°C in Gourdon (Lot), 35.4°C in Albi (Tarn), and 35.1°C in Toulouse-Francazal (Haute-Garonne).Last night’s low temperatures were down very slightly in western Midi-Pyrénées, still reaching 20 to 22°C (or even 23°C in urban areas) in eastern Aquitaine, from southern Limousin to southern Massif Central and the Toulouse region, as well as locally in the Pyrenean valleys.Today, Tuesday, maximum temperatures will again exceed 30°C everywhere, reaching 36°C to 38°C in the plains of the departments under an orange alert. Neighboring departments will see slightly lower temperatures, with 35°C expected in Tulle, and 34°C in Sarlat, Agen, L'Isle-Jourdain, and Millau. This heatwave will ease on Wednesday with the arrival of slightly cooler air from the west.
