Acute Respiratory Infections (Flu, Bronchiolitis, COVID-19) in Occitanie. Bulletin dated March 12, 2026.
Key Points
Acute Respiratory Infections
In Week 10 of 2026, indicators for acute respiratory infections (ARI) were stable or declining, both in hospitals and in community settings, across all age groups.
This ARI activity was primarily driven by the use of healthcare services for influenza-like illnesses and acute bronchitis (in outpatient settings), and for pneumonia (in hospitals).
Bronchiolitis (children under 1 year of age)
Occitanie is now in the green zone (“no epidemic”), like most regions in mainland France, except for Corsica. Bronchiolitis activity has not yet returned to baseline levels, but syndromic indicators in outpatient settings and hospitals are declining.
For virological indicators, the RSV positivity rate remains stable across the three university hospitals.
COVID-19
In week 10-2026, indicators were at low levels in Occitanie. Hospital indicators were stable, but a slight increase in indicators was observed among SOS Médecins associations and in private laboratories.
