Surveillance of Chikungunya, Dengue, and Zika in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Update as of July 29, 2022

Key Points

From May 1 to July 29, 2022, 14 reports were received. Of these reports, 10 cases were identified as probable or confirmed, all of which were imported:

  • 10 imported cases of dengue;

  • no cases of chikungunya;

  • no cases of Zika.

Dengue cases were identified in 4 departments in the region: Gironde, Landes, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, and Vienne. For 8 of the 10 confirmed or probable cases reported in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, a mosquito control operator was called in.

In total, 11 investigations were conducted regarding confirmed or probable cases, whether they were residents or visitors to the region. These investigations led to one larvicidal treatment (in Pyrénées-Atlantiques) and eight adulticidal treatments (in Gironde and Pyrénées-Atlantiques).
