Headlines - Cold Snap in Metropolitan France

Since January 28, France has been facing a cold snap, punctuated by heavy snowfall, ice, and wind, which intensifies the sensation of cold. The "Extreme Cold" alert threshold (minimum wind chill temperature below -18°C combined with sub-freezing daytime temperatures) has been met in many departments, placing them under "snow and ice" and "extreme cold" alerts.
