Mortality
: Mortality rates recorded from civil registry data and reported by INSEE remain within the usual seasonal fluctuations.
Emergency room visits by vulnerable populations
The number of emergency room visits among children under 1 year of age remains stable, slightly above the threshold; no significant changes for those aged 75 and older.
Notifiable Diseases (ND)
Note: 10 cases of Legionnaires’ disease have been reported since last month in Gironde, with no indication of clusters.
Chikungunya and dengue: enhanced surveillance
Since May 1, the start of enhanced surveillance in the departments of Lot-et-Garonne and Gironde, which are infested with Aedes albopictus (tiger mosquito), 28 suspected cases have been reported. Among these, 13 cases of chikungunya, 5 cases of dengue, and one co-infection have been confirmed, all of which were imported. To date, no locally acquired cases have been identified.
Acute Gastroenteritis (AGE)
According to Oscour® and SOS Médecins, activity is low and in line with expectations in Aquitaine and France.
Asthma and Allergies
Activity is decreasing according to Oscour® and SOS Médecins in Aquitaine and nationwide; a high allergy risk (grass pollen) is forecast for the region.
Heat-related illnesses
Activity has been declining for two consecutive weeks according to Oscour® and SOS Médecins in Aquitaine; a slight increase was observed nationally at the start of the week. No heatwave is forecast by Météo France.
School Absenteeism
: Upward trend in the absenteeism rate with no reported health-related causes.
