: Mortality rates recorded from vital statistics data, across all age groups, remain in line with expected levels for this period.
Emergency room visits by vulnerable populations
The number of emergency room visits among children under 1 year of age remains high. Note a spike in emergency room visits for trauma across all age groups in Gironde on March 8, 2014.
Reportable Diseases (MDO)
Data unavailable for S10, but alerts reported through the regional health surveillance and emergency platform do not indicate any specific situation.
Virology and enterovirus
meningitis Circulation of seasonal respiratory viruses according to Bordeaux University Hospital, notably influenza A and coronaviruses; no cases of enterovirus meningitis (Oscour®, Bordeaux University Hospital).
Acute gastroenteritis (AGE)
In Aquitaine, activity is declining according to the Oscour® network and slightly increasing according to SOS Médecins. Nationally, indicators have stabilized; the epidemic threshold has not yet been exceeded for this season.
Influenza and influenza-like illnesses
Continued decline in influenza epidemic activity in mainland France, including in Aquitaine.
Bronchiolitis Activity for
bronchiolitis continues to decline in Aquitaine according to SOS Médecins, Oscour®, and the AquiRespi network, with 43 children treated on March 8–9.
Carbon monoxide poisoning
Since September 2013, 44 incidents reported involving 91 people exposed and 65 transported to emergency rooms (France: 931 incidents, 2,727 exposed, 25 deaths).
School Absenteeism Overall
absenteeism rate remains stable.
