Surveillance of bronchiolitis in the Normandy region. Update as of December 10, 2015.

Key Points

For week 2015-49, activity related to bronchiolitis was higher compared to the same week in previous winter seasons, both in Normandy and nationwide. Monitoring of regional indicators suggests that the peak of the seasonal bronchiolitis epidemic among infants appears to be approaching in Normandy. Indeed, while the number of bronchiolitis diagnoses continued to rise in urban areas during week 2015-49, it peaked in hospitals during week 2015-48. Data from the current week will confirm whether the bronchiolitis epidemic has peaked or is continuing to intensify. A new epidemiological update will be released next week.
