Key Points

Oscour® network emergency department visit indicators:

  • Among adults of all ages for mental health issues:

    • The monthly number of emergency room visits in February 2022 is higher than in 2021 and higher than the average for the years 2018 to 2020.

    • The monthly activity rate in February is higher than the average for the years 2018 to 2020 and similar to 2021.

    • The monthly number of visits is generally higher in 2021 compared to the average for the years 2018 to 2020, but the monthly activity share is similar.

  • For children of all ages with mental health disorders:

    • The monthly number of emergency department visits in February 2022 is lower than in 2021 but higher than the average for the years 2018 to 2020.

    • The share of activity in February is lower than in 2021 but higher than the average for the years 2018 to 2020.

    • The monthly number of visits is generally higher in 2021 compared to the average for the years 2018 to 2020, with a higher monthly activity rate as well.

  • Several mental health monitoring indicators from the Oscour® network are on the rise in February 2022: a sharp increase in suicidal acts, mood disorders, depressive disorders, suicidal ideation, psychotic disorders, and anxiety disorders.

SOS Médecins medical service indicators:

  • The monthly number of SOS Médecins interventions for anxiety in February 2022 is lower than in 2021 but higher than the average for the years 2018 to 2020. The monthly number of interventions was higher throughout 2021 compared to the average for the years 2018 to 2020.

Indicators from the CoviPrev survey, waves 31–32 (Jan. 11–Feb. 15, 2022):

  • Increase in the proportion of sleep problems, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, and suicidal thoughts.

  • Stabilization of the life satisfaction score in Normandy.

  • No statistically significant changes in these indicators have been observed.
