Influenza and Flu-Like Illness

• The flu epidemic continues in Normandy, with a decline in virological indicators and hospital activity. Community activity is stabilizing at a high level. Although slightly lower than last week, the proportion of deaths (reported via electronic death certificates) with a mention of influenza remains high. The influenza viruses detected by hospital laboratories are mainly type A, subtype H1N1, and to a lesser extent type B.

Bronchiolitis

• After seven weeks of a bronchiolitis epidemic, Normandy is entering the post-epidemic phase. All indicators, both in the community and in hospitals, are declining and beginning to approach pre-epidemic baseline levels.

Acute gastroenteritis

• Outpatient activity (SOS Médecins) for acute gastroenteritis is rising sharply across all age groups, particularly among those under 15, with no impact on emergency department activity at this stage.
