Health Surveillance of Acute Gastroenteritis in Normandy. Update as of November 30, 2017.

Key Points

Monitoring of regional indicators shows that activity at emergency departments and SOS Médecins clinics related to acute gastroenteritis (AGE) remained stable during week 47 of 2017. It was lower than levels observed during the 2016–2017 winter season at the same time. A cluster of AGE cases in senior care facilities was reported to the Regional Health Agency (ARS). This trend is also being observed in other regions of western France. Based on analysis of national epidemiological data and previous winter seasons in Normandy, an increase in AGE-related activity is expected in the region in the coming weeks.
