Health Surveillance of Acute Gastroenteritis in Normandy. Update as of January 21, 2016.

Key Points

Monitoring of regional indicators for week 2016-02 indicates that activity related to acute gastroenteritis continued to intensify in primary care in Normandy. The current trend is consistent with trends observed at the national level, where epidemic activity of acute gastroenteritis in primary care was confirmed this week.Activity related to acute gastroenteritis remains less intense and/or occurs later compared to previous winter seasons during the same week. Currently available data continue to indicate the circulation of the new norovirus genotype (GII.17 Kawasaki), which could replace the one that circulated during the last three epidemic seasons (GII.4 Sydney).
