Health Monitoring in Normandy. Update as of February 21, 2024.
Key Points
Acute Gastroenteritis
The level of activity for acute gastroenteritis is moderate and declining in emergency departments and at SOS Médecins clinics, across all age groups.
Flu
Circulation remains high, with a decline in most indicators (proportion of SOS Médecins calls and emergency department visits, hospitalizations following emergency department visits). However, for those aged 65 and older, the number of emergency department visits and SOS Médecins calls remains stable. The number of influenza viruses isolated in university hospital virology laboratories remains high. Type A virus, particularly the H1N1 subtype, remains the predominant strain among positive hospital samples.
Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia
The various indicators for pneumonia are decreasing, both in community settings (SOS Médecins) and in hospitals (emergency departments), but remain at moderate levels. The positivity rate for Mycoplasma pneumoniae in hospital samples continues to decline.
