Health Monitoring in Normandy. Bulletin of December 5, 2024.

Key points

Bronchiolitis

  • Normandy is entering an epidemic phase this week.

  • All activity indicators (in hospitals, SOS Médecins, virology, and physical therapy) continue to rise or are rising again. The trend in bronchiolitis cases is similar to that observed in the year preceding the COVID-19 epidemic (2019–2020). These trends, observed in children under 2 years of age, are consistent among those under 1 year of age.

Influenza and Influenza-Like Illness

  • Normandy has been in the pre-epidemic phase since week 47. Indicators continue to rise in community practice (SOS Médecins) and in hospitals (Oscour®). The number of influenza viruses detected at the Rouen hospital laboratory has been rising sharply over the past two weeks.
