Bronchiolitis Surveillance, Upper and Lower Normandy as of December 24, 2014

Epidemiological Situation

A general review of regional indicators shows that the peak of the seasonal bronchiolitis epidemic among children under 2 years of age appears to be approaching in the Haute-Normandie and Basse-Normandie regions. Activity related to bronchiolitis in infants appears to be starting to decline in outpatient settings (to be confirmed by data from the coming weeks) and to be on the verge of beginning in hospitals. The current trend is consistent with patterns observed in both regions at this time of year during previous epidemic seasons.
