In mainland France, the Île-de-France region reported the highest number of arbovirus cases, all of which were imported; since May 1, 2021, there have been 43 confirmed cases of dengue and 1 confirmed case of chikungunya.
The majority of confirmed dengue cases were imported from Réunion (n=20).
Among the confirmed cases of dengue and chikungunya, 36 (82%) were viremic upon arrival in the country.
One case of dengue with no history of travel, contracted in connection with a kidney transplant from Réunion, was confirmed in the Paris department (75).
In 2021, 15 new municipalities were reported as colonized by the Aedes albopictus vector, bringing the total number of colonized municipalities in the Île-de-France region to 51, spread across 7 departments
