Bronchiolitis: End of the Outbreak in Île-de-France
Flu
In this eighth week of the epidemic, flu activity remains high, but the decline in flu-related visits continues, with:
- a stabilization in visits to primary care physicians (Sentinel data);
- a slight decrease in the number of SOS Médecins consultations for influenza;
- a stabilization in emergency room visits for influenza (though with a slight increase among children);
- as well as a decrease in severe flu cases admitted to intensive care and in the number of outbreaks of acute respiratory infections in nursing homes.
All-cause mortality
Nationally, the increase in all-cause mortality observed since mid-December has continued for the sixth consecutive week (through week 03 of 2017).
In Île-de-France, an increase in mortality was also recorded from week 51 of 2016 through week 03 of 2017, marking five consecutive weeks of increase
