Tuberculosis outbreak in a migrant shelter in Paris in 2002

During a screening campaign in a community in March 2002—where a case of tuberculosis had previously been diagnosed every year—13 cases of tuberculosis were identified, 2 of which were smear-positive upon microscopic examination. Two additional screening sessions were organized in June and September 2002. A total of 34 cases of tuberculosis were diagnosed. The characteristics of these cases are analyzed.
