  • Steady increase in the digitization of death certification, rising from 4% in early 2020 to 23% of all deaths in August 2021

  • Uneven regional coverage: 1 in 10 deaths in the Oise department, compared to 1 in 3 in the Nord and Somme departments

  • Deployment of electronic certification: 27% in public healthcare facilities, 40% in private healthcare facilities, barely 10% in nursing homes, and less than 2% for deaths occurring at home or in public places
