Influenza Outbreak Update in French Guiana. As of November 20, 2015.

Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

Since late July (Week 2015-30), activity related to influenza-like illness has remained moderate. An estimated 4,060 consultations for influenza-like illness were conducted by private practitioners and regional public health centers during this period. Of the 19 samples analyzed at the IPG’s National Influenza Virus Reference Center during this period, 4 tested positive for influenza B, A/H3N2, and A/H1N1pdm09 viruses. To prevent the illness, it is essential to wash your hands regularly with soap and water, cover your mouth whenever you cough or sneeze (in your sleeve or a disposable tissue), and remember to ventilate your home daily to refresh the air.
