Epidemiological Situation of Dengue in French Guiana. Update as of May 21, 2019.

Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

The epidemiological situation regarding dengue fever is stable in French Guiana and corresponds to Phase 1 of the dengue Psage*: sporadic cases. Two confirmed cases of serotype DENV-2 (one imported from Brazil and one secondary to that first case) were identified in Kourou between late April and early May. This secondary case is the first confirmed indigenous case recorded since March 2016. The situation is being closely monitored to identify as early as possible the potential establishment of a local transmission chain.
