Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

The circulation of the dengue virus in French Guiana remained low from early August to early October (S2015-32 to S2015-40). During this period, the number of clinically suggestive cases and probable or confirmed cases of dengue remained at stable and low levels, typically observed during the inter-epidemic period.The outbreaks that had been identified on the island of Cayenne subsided by the end of August. Thus, the epidemiological situation of dengue across the entire territory corresponds to Phase 1 of Psage: "sporadic cases."
